Radiography Program
Jacqueline Orchid Garcia is in her second year of the Radiography Program. In 2020, Jacqueline Orchid Garcia decided that the time had come to take her education to the next level. Moving from Orange County, California Jacqueline selected to attend the highly accredited school, the Center for Allied Health education (CAHE) to deepen her social competencies, wisdom and education. Jacqueline was always aware that she was interested in medicine. She desired to share peace, comfort and love that her late grandmother passed along to her. Jacqueline worked on her passion for helping people as a chiropractic assistant then transitioned into a nursing assistant, and is now going into her sixth quarter of the radiography program. Jacqueline is pleased to be studying at the Center for Allied Health Education (CAHE) She is looking forward to completing her degree and then completing the American Register of Radiology Technologists (ARRT). Jacqueline is committed to making a positive difference where she travels. Understanding that patient care is extremely important in the medical discipline. Jacqueline looks forward to being a positive leader in healthcare.
CAHE: What did you enjoy most in the program?
Jacqueline: I recall in high school when the teachers would ask this question to the class. The majority of the class would then respond that the best part of school was the lunch break. As I read this question, I looked back at that moment and I giggled. Though my fondest thing about the radiography program is not the lunch break. What I admire the most if I had to choose would be learning from my teachers. As I look back on the five amazing quarters of schooling that I have been through. I appreciate my teachers all the more. Their patience, guidance, creativity, And support during a pandemic to say the least is inspirational. I believe that teachers make all of the difference in your education. When your school is equipped with great educators, I believe this can lead one to aspire to great things in their chosen field.
CAHE: What is the greatest lesson that you learned in the program?
Jacqueline: The greatest lesson that I have learned while being in the radiography program is that teamwork does indeed make the dream work. During my first clinical experience I was amazed at how great the radiologic technologists worked together as a team. I learned how to identify when to step in to help when needed. How to maneuver and manage a heavy flow of patients smoothly and efficiently without compromising excellent patient care. Furthermore, the biggest lesson learned is that if I work as a team player it will always lead to a healthy and happy workplace environment.
CAHE: What is one piece of advice that you would give to prospective students looking to enter the Radiography Program field?
Jacqueline: Making the decision to become a radiologic technologist was a simple one to make although; I understood the journey ahead would be challenging. The confidence that I feel when accomplishing a prolonged goal is completely exhilarating. Furthermore, over the years I have learned that the choices made today will define the future ahead. If you are committed to expanding your future don't be afraid. Just vow to constantly wake up every morning with the courage to expand your mind, spirit and health. Never forget that the choices you make today will be the outcome of your future.
CAHE: What is your most memorable experience in the program?
Jacqueline: My most memorable moment was when we came down to the final days of our first clinical rotation. My classmates and I decided to surprise our radiologic technologies with a pizza party for all their help and guidance. A wonderful pizzeria was kind enough to donate pizza to our hospital. It was such a beautiful experience that I will cherish forever.
CAHE: What advice would you offer to a student who is just beginning the program?
Jacqueline: My advice to offer a student who has just begun the program would be firstly, congratulations! You have made an excellent choice and you are in great hands here at CAHE. Please be sure to listen to your amazing teachers. They have done this many times before and everything that they are telling you is for a good reason I promise. They want to see each and everyone of their students graduate. Just stay focused, put your studies first and you will succeed in this program.
