Laura Borghardt began her career in Medical Dosimetry in 2001 at the Stony Brook Radiation Oncology department in Stony Brook NY. In addition to her clinical duties, she worked with the University to initiate and propel a brand-new Medical Dosimetry concentration in the Health Science Bachelor’s program. Professor Borghardt took over as the Director of the program in 2008. In 2013, she was elected to the Board of Directors of the Joint Review Committee of Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) where Laura became an Executive Board member and held the position of Treasurer until the end of her term 2018. That same year, she was asked to sit on the Board of Directors of the American Association of Medical Dosimetry Education and Research Foundation (AAMDERF), and currently serves today as the Secretary.
